We hosted the two-day Shiatsu workshops with Kawahara-sensei from Japan on September 12th and 13th. We had 36 participants including Kawahara-sensei, an entourage of 12 from Japan, 17 members from the CSSBC and 6 board members. The workshop was about four hours long each day.

Several members became Kawahara-sensei’s treatment models. They told their chief complaints to Kawahara-sensei and he demonstrated his treatment. It was certainly the essence of shiatsu which is diagnosis and therapy combined. All participants listened carefully and focused on Kawahara-sensei’s treatment. Kawahara-sensei shared his deep knowledge and experience with us during the two-day workshops. We got into pairs with the visitors from Japan and did Shiatsu exchange after his lecture.

It was an excellent workshop and it really opened our eyes to the power and benefit of Shiatsu.
We would like to thank Kawahara-sensei and his entourage from Japan, as well as Sandy for translating and Reiko who hosted and organized the workshop. Also Alex for taking video and all of those who attended the workshops.
